2. Data we process and why
- Browsing data. Our servers automatically record data whose transmission is inherent to Internet protocols (IP address, browser and device type, request date and time, pages viewed, response status). Purpose: operating and securing the site and producing anonymous usage statistics. Legal basis: the controller's legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Approximate geolocation from IP. To show the weather and radar for the area you are browsing from, your IP address is sent to ip-api.com, which returns an approximate city and coordinates. The value is used transiently (technical cache) and is not linked to your identity. Legal basis: legitimate interest in delivering relevant content (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Webcam comments. When you post a comment we process the name you provide (optional, shown publicly), the comment text, the language, and your IP address and user agent kept for anti-spam and security. Comments are moderated before publication. Legal basis: consent given by submitting (Art. 6(1)(a)) and legitimate interest in preventing abuse (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Webcam submissions. The submission form collects the data you enter (including a contact email) solely to review and publish the submitted webcam and to get back to you about it. Legal basis: legitimate interest and responding to your request (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Cookies and similar technologies. See the Cookie Policy.
3. Third-party services
The site relies on external services that may process data (typically the IP address) as independent controllers or as processors:
- Open-Meteo and RainViewer — weather and radar data/maps;
- OpenStreetMap — maps;
- ip-api.com — IP geolocation;
- Automattic (mShots) — page preview generation;
- Google AdSense — advertising, when active; may use profiling cookies under its own policies;
- the webcam operators (e.g. SkylineWebcams, feratel, YouTube and others) when a video stream is embedded in the page;
- Saurosoft Radio — audio stream and now-playing track.
Some of these providers are located outside the European Union; where that is the case, transfers rely on the safeguards set out in Articles 44 ff. GDPR (standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions).
4. Retention
Browsing logs are kept only as long as necessary and in any case no longer than a few months, unless required for security investigations or legal obligations. Comments remain while the webcam and the comment are published; submission data are kept for as long as needed to assess and manage the webcam.
5. Your rights
You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability (Articles 15-22 GDPR) at any time by writing to info@saurosoft.it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
6. Changes
This policy may be updated; the version in force is always the one published at this address, with the last-updated date shown at the top.
