About us
Saurosoft Webcams is an independent portal that collects live webcams from around the world and organises them by continent, country, region and place. The archive currently holds 141 published webcams across 6 countries, and it grows every day.
Where we come from
The site grew out of the historical saurosoft.it, which had published webcams from Trentino (northern Italy) since the early 2000s. In September 2026 it was rebuilt from scratch as a worldwide portal, with a new architecture, Italian/English localisation and full geographic navigation. Italy is still the most covered country, but it is one among many.
How we choose webcams
A webcam enters the archive in one of two ways:
- Editorial selection. Places of scenic or touristic interest that we verify and describe by hand.
- Automatic discovery. A nightly process finds new public webcams on operators' own websites; every candidate still goes through a human check before it is published.
We do not re-embed video streams when the operator's terms do not allow it: in those cases we show the refreshing still frame and link back to the original page. Every entry names its source and links to the site of whoever runs the camera.
Monitoring and upkeep
A monitoring system checks every webcam regularly. When a link stops working we try to recover it automatically for a few days; if the frame stays identical for more than a week the webcam is flagged as stalled and, if it does not come back, removed from the archive.
What each entry shows
Besides the live image, every webcam page shows the local weather forecast, the precipitation radar, a map and the other webcams nearby. Visitors can leave a comment (moderated before publication).

Reporting or correcting a webcam
Anyone can report a new webcam or flag a link that no longer works. If you run a webcam and do not want it in the archive, write to us and we will remove it.
